Missy Elliott is becoming the first female rapper and third rapper ever to enter the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Joining rappers JAY-Z and Jermaine Dupri, Elliott cements her place as one of the most iconic songwriters of her generation.

One of the biggest acts of the 90s, Elliott rose to fame with her R&B all-female group ‘Sista’ and working with childhood friend Timbaland to drop some killer tunes. Elliotts is the best-selling female rapper in Nielsen Music history.

The new class of songwriters will be inducted on June 13 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
