Tesla CEO Elon Musk has teased on Twitter that the next generation Tesla Roadster may be able to fly short distances.
You can already expect to see a 0-100 km/h time of 1.9 seconds with a top speed of 400 km/h and a battery pack that provides a 1,000-km range, but Elon claims there will be a special option package of the car that will take the Roadster to the next level.
“Not saying the next-gen Roadster special upgrade package *will* definitely enable it to fly short hops, but maybe,” he wrote.
“Certainly possible. Just a question of safety. Rocket tech applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities.”

Revolutionary possibilities for sure.
The Roadster is an all-electric supercar that maximizes the potential of aerodynamic engineering and is available for reservation now for the first 1,000 orders.
There’s no release date set for the upgraded edition with rocket tech but it sounds closer than we thought. Would you buy the Tesla Roadster if you knew it could fly?
