The Cavs will feature two editions of their new uniforms. The Association addition features a classic white jersey and the Icon edition features a wine jersey.
The Nike logo is visible on both jerseys since Nike is the official NBA uniform provider for the upcoming season, but it is not the only logo the Cleveland Cavaliers will be dawning.
The Cavaliers announced their collaboration with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company back in the spring. Since teams are now allowed to incorporate sponsor logos into their uniforms, the winged foot logo has made an appearance on both uniforms as well.
“We had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Nike on the design of the uniform and we found the perfect partner in Goodyear who shares our home-state pride and values of drive and determination,” said Tracy Marek, Cavaliers chief marketing officer.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have introduced the new uniforms as their Coat Of Armour. This idea has been incorporated directly into the new uniform design. The overall look of the jersey is meant to represent a shield in honour of the teams’ commitment to defend their title and the spirit of resilience that Cleveland is known for.
The shield, which is now featured in the Cleveland Cavaliers updated logo, is represented as a silhouette around the outside of the uniform. A gold accent trim runs across the v-neckline, down the sides, back and into the shorts of the uniform to shape the edges of this armour design.
These new uniforms are just the first of what will be four new core uniforms for each team in the league. The remaining two uniforms will be revealed in the coming months so be on the lookout.
